PQA VENUES is located right at the heart of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in a prime position along the Royal Mile. Only a five-minute walk from Edinburgh's main train station and excellent links to the rest of the UK and city through public transport including trams and buses to Edinburgh international airport.
Housed inside Riddle’s Court, a picturesque Grade-II listed merchant’s house just steps away from Edinburgh Castle, the venue comprises unique features including exquisite painted ceilings, authentic working fireplaces and panelled rooms. All of which will be transformed into adaptable performance spaces for the period of the Festival.
PQA VENUES at Riddle’s Court is an exciting new venture for performers to get involved with in 2018. Riddle’s Court has undergone a £5m restoration and refurbishment which has equipped the space as a state of the art venue while keeping the charm of its 400-year history.
PQA VENUES is proud to programme Riddle’s Court for the internationally-renowned Edinburgh Festival Fringe. PQA VENUES’ aim is to create a unique programme that offers a distinct variety of storytelling experiences that explore all kinds of journeys which audiences of all ages will engage with.
Alongside a programme of exciting work from established and up-and-coming artists, PQA VENUES host the work of its production arm, Q Productions, which in 2018 is set to include a Rep Season comprising four professional productions, including an interactive, character-led experience for young children, as well as the reimaging of a profound 1990s hit play for a new generation.
PQA VENUES also host ‘PQA at the Fringe’ where students from The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts throughout the whole of the UK get the opportunity to bring their shows to Edinburgh to explore the world-famous Fringe festival.
